SO, WHAT IS BOUDOIR?
The French word boudoir means 'a woman's dressing room or bedroom', but I like to think of it as just a fancy word for women's intimate portraiture. I just want to create the most beautiful portraits of you that you will ever have!
Boudoir is NOT pornographic or overly sexual. Boudoir can be fun, flirty, beautiful, cute, sexy, feminine, intimate, candid, posed, or really anything else you want it to be.

WHAT WOULD I DO WITH BOUDOIR PORTRAITS?
I actually believe that boudoir is the best gift you can give YOURSELF, to capture your essence as you are now. When you need a reminder of the strong, beautiful woman that you are, you will have a collection of amazing portraits to look upon.
I love it when women come to me for themselves. The images we create together will boost your self esteem and your confidence, and that should be celebrated by YOU! It will help you reclaim your femininity, your sexuality, two things that are often lost as we get consumed with our lives, our jobs, our families. Put that pep back in your step, and reflect on the bodacious babe you are. Celebrate the body that you live in!
And, if you decide to bless someone with a glimpse of your luxury album filled with your fabulous portraits, that is totally up to you!
“I don't look like the women in your portfolio!”
Actually, you do! You just haven't had the chance to see yourself from my perspective (yet). Come into the studio and let me show you how beautiful you really are!
There is no such thing as the perfect body. Boudoir is for every BODY. You are never too big, small, old, or too young (over 21, please) to do a boudoir session.
“Who is going to be there the day of my session?”
You & Me, your photographer! Your hair and make up artist leaves after she is finished glamming you up!
“Can you make me look thinner?”
I want to help you feel beautiful now, just the way you are. I flatter you with hair and makeup styling, a wardrobe that compliments your figure, and amazing lighting and posing techniques to highlight your best ass-sets (see what I did there?). I don’t heavy photoshop. I do eliminate bruises and pimples. I don't want to over manipulate your body to make you look like someone you are not. You are beautiful at this very moment without over the top retouching.
“What will I wear?”
Once you schedule, I’ll send you a comprehensive wardrobe guide. My policy is always "when in doubt, bring it"! I’m also always adding to an amazing client wardrobe that you can borrow from for your session with pieces sizes XS - 6X. Most clients bring NOTHING to their session and rely solely on my client wardrobe!!!
“Do we meet before the session?”
Most of my clients book their session over the phone, then, about a month or two before your session, you have the option of a 30 minute phone consultation so I can make sure you're ready for the session and answer any questions. From the time you book up until your session, I’m emailing you information to help with the big day. You can email me any time at info@marybessphotography.com.
“What happens on the day of my shoot?”
Studio Sessions begin at 8:30 AM Monday - Friday. The entire experience will last 4-5 hours, starting with professional hair and makeup. We’ll also go through the clothing pieces you brought with you as well as any you might like to try on from my client wardrobe. Then, I'll pose you from head to pointed toe, and help you with a variety of facial expressions! Prepare to be sore after your session, we do a LOT of bending and twisting (it's quite the workout!).
“When do I see my images?”: We'll make a separate date and time for you Image Reveal & Ordering Appointment! We will select which images you would like to purchase and how you would like to display them at home! Ordering appointments take approximately 1.5 hours and generally only include you! All clients will have picked out and prepaid for their Collection, so the ordering process is a breeze!
“How long does it take to get the albums and prints back?”: You will receive your images in about 8-10 weeks after your session! I either drop ship your artwork and album to you or we arrange pick up. I do not offer online galleries or multiple appointments for your reveal, all ordering decisions must be made at your reveal appointment.
“I need my images by XX date, when should I book?”: My studio books up 2-3 months in advance and the professionally printed products can take up to 8 weeks for delivery. Make sure you reach out to book well in advance of when you need your images! If you have a special occasion coming up or wish to book a holiday appointment, I recommend booking 6 MONTHS in advance of that date. Yes! You should book 6 months in advance to secure special dates!
“Can my spouse/friend/mom come to my session or my ordering appointment?”: I do not allow guests to be present for any portion of the time you spend with me. My services are best delivered in an 1-on-1 atmosphere with your complete undivided attention.
